My One in a Million Dad Dad, little did we know that Mum was calling your name, in life we loved you dearly, and in death we’ll do the same It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, when Mum called you home. Dad, I see you in my dreams and in the tears, I cry, for Dad’s and daughters, never really say goodbye. You left us happy memories, your love is still our guide, and though we can no longer see you, you are always by our side We miss you more than ever your guidance and your love, but we know you are with Mum still watching, silently from above There are no words to tell you what losing you has meant, but now each day brings memories of all the happy years we spent Our lives go on without you but nothing is the same, we have to hide our heartache when someone speaks your name, Dad, if I could write a story it would be the greatest ever told, of a kind and loving Dad who had the biggest heart of gold I could write a million pages about the things you used to do, and when we needed someone, we could always count on you Dad you never looked for praise, you were never one to boast, you just went on quietly working for those you loved the most Your dreams were seldom spoken, your wants were very few, a dance, bounty bar, tea and cake, just to name a few You gave us all you had to give, both big and sometimes small, but most of all you gave us love, the greatest gift of all. Dad you were so gentle, supportive and so kind, and how I cherish all those memories that so softly lay behind Amongst those treasured memories are the wonderful times we had, and every day my heart will ache for my one in a million, My Dad
